Second model thumb-break Hammer gun # 7928 (no. 2 of a pair). Rebounding back action with rare patented cartridge indicators of the patent no. 1464 of 1866 as seen on page 63 of Dallas' Purdey book. New barrels by Fosters by the seamless sleeving method retaining original rib with original J. Purdey 314 1/2 Oxford Street. London address. Dimensions on the barrels are; walls are both .035, bores .725 and chokes R .019 and L .030. Stock is 14 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 2 7/16 x 3/8 cast off to original heel and toe plates. Thumb-break is the Purdey second patent thumb hole under lever . Action has percussion fences with rebounding Purdey floating locks with dolphin hammers and best fine scroll engraving overall. Very sound and classic vintage gun.
